gypt is such a famous and well-known destination that we were pretty sure of what to expect if we visited Egypt on our first visit, at the very least in terms of attractions. A visit to Egypt must include imposing pyramids, monumental temples, and elaborately decorated royal tombs.
However, we weren’t certain of what traveling in Egypt could be from a cultural point of view because we’d not had long on this region of the Middle East.
As expected, Egypt’s earliest sites amazed us with their age, style and building techniques. Unsurprisingly, we also encountered moments of cultural shock but not as extreme as I had hoped for.
In the majority of cases we were pleasantly surprised by the way things turned out of traveling in Egypt. It was fascinating, educational and stunning, but it was also exhausting, complex and invasive.
Your First Trip to Egypt: What to Expect
Following our first visit to Egypt I can assure that you should expect a nation that is awash with heritage and culture, yet it also has some challenges to travel and social and environmental concerns.
While preparing for the trip was reading enough Egypt travel advice that stated that traveling independently is not as easy as other countries due to infrastructure, regulations from the government and the lack of public information, and the cultural and different linguistics.
In accordance with the suggestions of others who had traveled to Egypt we chose to employ an individual guide and driver. When we first visited Egypt we realized that traveling as we do – without a guide hiring a car, or even taking trains- could have been a challenge and uncomfortable. With the benefit of a guide, we did not need to think about logistics and instead relax and enjoy all that Egypt offered to visitors.
When you travel to Egypt for the first time, you can expect an amazing journey! Be ready for ancient history, vibrant culture, stunning landscapes and unforgettable landmarks such as the Great Pyramids of Giza, Sphinx and temples of Luxor and Karnak to take your breath away. Navigating bustling bazaars along with Nile cruises, desert exploration and bustling bazaars will reveal an array of past and present Egyptian experiences like no other country can.
Be ready for warm hospitality, delicious cuisine and an incredible mix of traditional and modern experiences every step of your journey can bring! Egypt travel offers a journey through time – waiting to be discovered around every corner is another story waiting to be unlocked – waiting to be unwrapped.
There’s a lot to learn about a culture as long as that of Egypt that it may be a challenge to take in all of it, especially when you’re in awe of these masterpieces of architecture and art. Every day we had to deal with the influx of information and I was feeling like my mind was always re-sending the information I had learned just minutes ago in order to make room for the latest knowledge.
Egypt could be the ideal destination for those who love history But we also came across many exciting outdoor adventures as well as stunning spots to unwind.
